Pastor Bob Pavlich and the men of Adult and Teen Challenge Ohio Valley participated in the recent Men’s Rally in the Valley, meeting and praying with other men from across the Mahoning Valley.
The event, held at the Covelli Centre in downtown Youngstown, is a day filled with praise, worship and testimony. This marked its 12th year and “Be United in Christ” was the theme. Pastor Bob was a featured speaker for the Oct. 9 event.
Pastor Bob and ATCOV clients began their participation the day before when they carried a wooden cross from the facility on Florencedale, throughout downtown, stopping at Youngstown State University, Stambaugh Auditorium and other sites before arriving at Covelli. “They got to actually carry a cross, symbolizing what Jesus did for us,” Pastor Bob said. “It was absolutely outstanding. It really was a time of reflection as we walked through the city of Youngstown.”
The journey represented when Jesus carried the cross upon which he would be crucified along a stone street in the old city of Jerusalem. The experience moved the men and they spent the following day, the day of the rally, meeting, speaking and praying with other men of faith.
The event, an annual gathering, draws hundreds to the Covelli Centre each year. It featured musical groups, elected officials and speakers from other faith-based organizations.
